London Book Fair Is Cancelled Amid Coronavirus Fears

One of the worlds biggest annual literary events (London Book Fair) has today been cancelled amid concerns over Coronavirus.

Reed Exhibitions has today announced that The London Book Fair 2020, scheduled to take place at Olympia, London, from 10 to 12 March will be cancelled following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Europe.London Book Fair

This comes after London Book Fair yesterday stated that it would still be going ahead with the event. However, the organisation was under pressure from those who complained that they were putting people at more risk by announcing an inevitable delay.

Governments have also hinted towards cancelling any events that encourage the gathering of large amounts of people, meaning that many organisations may be forced into cancelling such events over the next few weeks.

While it’s sad that the London Book Fair won’t be taking place in 2020, this may also be for the best as its a matter of health and well-being. Reed Exhibitions has yet to release any information about refunds for exhibitors or visitors but it’s assumed that this will be addressed in time.
